Requirements:

• Relevant 3 year- tertiary qualification
• 5 - 8 Years relevant experience of which 3 years must be at a supervisory level
• Computer literacy: MS Office
• Code B driver’s license

Functions:

• Formulate, Coordinate and implement Integrated Economic Development Framework, Local Economic Development strategies and Social Development programmes
• Formulate, Coordinate and implement Integrated Tourism Framework and Tourism strategies and programmes
• Formulate, Coordinate and facilitate community development programmes and events focused on identified vulnerable groups and implement strategies and programmes
• Manage, supervise and monitor activities, procedures and performance of staff and ensure acceptable levels of quality and performance of the Socio-Economic Development Division
• Plans, coordinates and manages activities of the division
• Align the divisions strategy to service delivery
• Identifies and defines the immediate, short- and long term objectives/plans associated with Socio-Economic Development
• Research new developments in the field of Socio-Economic Development to determine strategic direction and advise direct superior
• Provide policy and operational direction by interpreting policies, legislation and trends and guiding the division in implementing updated policies and procedures
• Coordinate the development and maintenance of systems, policies, procedures and processes
• Directs and controls outcomes associated with utilization, productivity, and performance of personnel within the Socio-Economic Development Division
• Provide strategic direction in various meetings
• Monitors utilization and maintenance of machinery and vehicles
• Performs Human Resources activities
• Manages the implementation of policies/procedures and provides information to support the functions to the division.
• Manage the division’s budget in collaboration with relevant Director.
• Provide input regarding compilation of division’s budget and implement effective budget and expenditure control measures
• Manage and coordinate Economic Development activities
• Manage business development, project implementation and policy development
• Develop capacity building strategies and programs to empower all relevant role players to improve involvement in the Local Economic Development/ Integrated Development Plan processes
• Coordinate the implementation of the Local Economic Development strategies and programmes
• Render guidance with preparation, execution and evaluation of the Local Economic Development plan
• Coordinate the execution of critical key performance areas of the functionality and provides input into specific Tourism initiatives
• Assist government agencies and statutory institutions with the implementation of Small, Medium, and Micro Enterprises support programmes
• Facilitate community skills development projects
• Endeavour, to improve the level of informal trading services to all market users
• Conduct research and development projects
• Disseminates functional and operational information on the immediate, short- and long-term objectives and current developments, problems and constraints

Remuneration:  T16

(R 619 151. 64- R 803 683.44) Per annum, plus a motor scheme allowance and normal fringe benefits

Funksies:

• Formuleer, koördineer en implementeer Geïntegreerde Ekonomiese Ontwikkelingsraamwerk ,Plaaslike Ekonomiese Ontwikkeling -strategieë en Sosiale Ontwikkelingsprogramme
• Formuleer, koördineer en implementeer Geïntegreerde Toerismeraamwerk en Toerismestrategieë en -programme
• Formuleer, koördineer en fasiliteer gemeenskapsontwikkelingsprogramme en -geleenthede, gefokus op geïdentifiseerde kwesbare groepe en implementeer strategieë en programme
• Bestuur, hou toesig oor en moniteer aktiwiteite, prosedures en prestasie van personeel en verseker aanvaarbare vlakke van kwaliteit en prestasie van die Sosio-ekonomiese Ontwikkelingsafdeling
• Beplan, koördineer en bestuur aktiwiteite van die afdeling
• Belyn die afdelings se strategie met dienslewering
• Identifiseer en definieer die onmiddellike, kort- en langtermyn doelwitte/planne wat verband hou met sosio-ekonomiese ontwikkeling
• Doen navorsing oor nuwe ontwikkelings op die gebied van Sosio-ekonomiese Ontwikkeling om strategiese rigting te bepaal en direk meerdere te adviseer
• Voorsien beleid en operasionele rigting deur beleide, wetgewing en tendense te interpreteer en die afdeling te lei in die implementering van opgedateerde beleide en prosedures
• Koördineer die ontwikkeling en instandhouding van stelsels, beleide, prosedures en prosesse
• Bestuur en beheer uitkomste wat verband hou met die benutting, produktiwiteit en prestasie van personeel binne die Sosio-ekonomiese Ontwikkelingsafdeling
• Gee strategiese rigting in verskeie vergaderings
• Moniteer gebruik en instandhouding van masjinerie en voertuie
• Voer Menslike Hulpbronne-aktiwiteite uit
• Bestuur die implementering van beleide/prosedures en verskaf inligting om die funksies aan die afdeling te ondersteun
• Bestuur die afdeling se begroting in samewerking met relevante Direkteur
• Lewer insette rakende samestelling van afdeling se begroting en implementeer effektiewe begroting- en uitgawebeheermaatreëls
• Bestuur en koördineer Ekonomiese Ontwikkelingsaktiwiteite
• Bestuur besigheidsontwikkeling, projekimplementering en beleidsontwikkeling
• Ontwikkel kapasiteitsboustrategieë en -programme om alle relevante rolspelers te bemagtig om betrokkenheid by die Plaaslike Ekonomiese Ontwikkeling/ Geïntegreerde Ontwikkelings Plan-prosesse te verbeter
• Koördineer die implementering van die Plaaslike Ekonomiese Ontwikkeling -strategieë en -programme
• Lewer leiding met voorbereiding, uitvoering en evaluering van die Plaaslike Ekonomiese Ontwikkeling-plan
• Koördineer die uitvoering van kritieke sleutelprestasie-areas van die funksionaliteit en lewer insette in spesifieke Toerisme-inisiatiewe
• Staatsagentskappe en statutêre instellings by te staan ​​met die implementering van Klein-, Medium- en Mikro-Ondernemings -ondersteuningsprogramme
• Fasiliteer gemeenskapsvaardigheidsontwikkelingsprojekte
• Poog om die vlak van informele handelsdienste aan alle markgebruikers te verbeter
