MUNICIPAL MANAGER EBEN PHILLIPS RESIGNS

Mr Eben Phillips has tendered his resignation as Municipal Manager of Cape Agulhas Municipality, effective 30 May 2025. Mr Phillips has accepted a senior position at the Overberg District Municipality and will assume his new role on 1 July 2025. Mr Phillips first joined the municipality in the early 2000s, subsequently left to pursue other opportunities, and returned to take up the role of Municipal Manager on 1 November 2020.

Over the past four-and-a-half years, he has overseen significant service-delivery enhancements and upheld the highest standards of financial governance, securing a clean audit report each year of his tenure.

The Council extends its sincere gratitude to Mr Phillips for his steadfast leadership and commitment. Under his guidance, critical infrastructure projects were advanced, and community programmes strengthened.

Mr Phillips will officially hand over his responsibilities to Mr Hendrik Krohn on 2 June 2025, at which point Mr Krohn—Director: Infrastructure—will begin serving as Acting Municipal Manager to ensure uninterrupted operations. The Council anticipates concluding the recruitment process for an appointment within the next three months.
