Planning an Event in Cape Agulhas? Here’s What You Need to Know!

The Cape Agulhas Municipality’s new Events Policy takes effect on 1 April 2025, its purpose is to streamline applications whilst ensuring safety, compliance, and community benefits.

Key steps to apply:

Step 1: Check land use rights

• Consult the Town Planning Department first. No application can proceed without the correct zoning.

Step 2: Submit your application

• Use the official form (link below) and apply at least 60 days before your event.

• A special concession has been granted for late applications until 24 May 2025 providing applications are received within a reasonable time. Early submission of applications is encouraged!

Step 3: Await approval

• The Events Committee will decide within 30 days.

• If approved, the applicant must display the permit onsite.

• What if your application is denied? There is a right of appeal to the Municipal Manager within 21 days.

Die Kaap Agulhas Munisipaliteit se nuwe Gebeurtenisbeleid tree op 1 April 2025 in werking, die doel daarvan is om aansoeke te vergemaklik en terselfdertyd veiligheid, voldoening en gemeenskapsvoordele te verseker.

Belangrike stappe om aansoek te doen:

Stap 1: Laat die grondgebruiksregte dit toe?

• Raadpleeg eers die Stadsbeplanningsafdeling. Geen aansoek kan voortgaan sonder die korrekte sonering nie.

Stap 2: Dien jou aansoek in

• Gebruik die amptelike vorm (skakel hieronder) en doen aansoek ten minste 60 dae voor die geleentheid.

• Spesiale vergunning is toegestaan vir laat aansoeke tot 24 Mei 2025 mits aansoeke binne ‘n redelike tyd ontvang word. Vroeë indiening van aansoeke word aangemoedig!

Stap 3: Wag op goedkeuring

• Die Geleentheidskomitee sal binne 30 dae ‘n besluit neem .

• Indien goedgekeur, moet die aansoeker die permit op die terrein vertoon.

• Wat as u aansoek afgekeur word? Daar is ‘n reg van appèl na die Munisipale Bestuurder binne 21 dae.
