INVITATION TO COMMENT ON THE DRAFT POLICY ON NAMING AND RENAMING OF STREETS AND PUBLIC PLACES

A draft policy on naming and renaming of streets and public places in the Cape Agulhas Municipal Area is available for public comment.

The draft policy is available at all our offices, libraries and resorts and is also available on our website. https://capeagulhas.gov.za/documents/policies-strategies-and-plans/policies/town-planning/

The overall objective of the Policy is to;-

• Provide guidelines and principles to regulate street and public place naming.
• Provide guidelines and principles to regulate street and public place re-naming.
• Provide guidelines and principles to regulate street numbering.
• Establish a clear and transparent process for naming and renaming streets and public places.
• Define the roles and responsibilities of all role players.
• Define effective administrative and decision-making procedures.
• Ensure that names reflect the municipality’s history, culture and value

Any person wishing to submit comments must submit comments in writing to the email address below on or before Tuesday 8 April 2025.

PLEASE NOTE: Due to the limited functioning of the Bredasdorp Post Office, all comments must be submitted via email or delivered to the nearest Municipal Office.

UITNODIGING OM KOMMENTAAR TE LEWER OP DIE KONSEP-BELEID OOR BENOEMING EN HERNOEMING VAN STRATE EN OPENBARE PLEKKE

‘n Konsepbeleid oor die benoeming en hernoeming van strate en openbare plekke in die Kaap Agulhas Munisipale Gebied is beskikbaar vir publieke kommentaar.

Die konsep-beleid kan by al ons kantore, biblioteke en oorde besigtig word en is ook op ons webwerf https://capeagulhas.gov.za/documents/policies-strategies-and-plans/policies/town-planning/

Die oorhoofse doel van die beleid is om;-

• Riglyne en beginsels te verskaf om straat- en openbare plekbenoeming te reguleer.
• Riglyne en beginsels te verskaf om die herbenoeming van straat en openbare plekke te reguleer.
• Riglyne en beginsels te verskaf om straatnommers te reguleer.
• Vestig ‘n duidelike en deursigtige proses om strate en openbare plekke te benoem en te hernoem.
• Definieer die rolle en verantwoordelikhede van alle rolspelers.
• Doeltreffende administratiewe en besluitnemingsprosedures te definieer.
• Verseker dat name die munisipaliteit se geskiedenis, kultuur en waardes weerspieël

Enige persoon wat kommentaar wil indien, moet sodanige kommentaar skriftelik aan die onderstaande e-posadres maak voor of op Dinsdag 8 April 2025 (30 dae vanaf die datum van publikasie).

LET WEL: As gevolg van minimale funksionering van die Bredasdorp Poskantoor moet alle kommentaar deur epos gestuur word of afgelewer word by die naaste Munisipale Kantore.
