Notice: Masakhane applications for free electricity units

Supporting documents that should be submitted with the application:

1) ID documents of both Husband and Wife showing on the account:

• married couples;

• persons who are not married;

• persons in whose name the house is registered.

2) Marriage certificate if married.

3) Children’s birth certificate.

4) Proof of income, three months bank statement (if a client does not have a bank account, a statement at the police station that the client does not have a bank account).

5) Payslip.

6) Power number (meter no).

• If the application is made and approved before 30 June per year, the free units are given from 1 July.

• If the applications are made, e.g. during July, the person will only receive free units on 1 August.

Ondersteunende dokumente wat saam met die aansoek ingedien moet word:

1) ID dokumente van beide Man en Vrou wat op die rekening wys:

• indien getroud;

• ongetroud;

• Beide persone op wie se naam die huis geregistreer is.

2) Huweliksertifikaat indien getroud.

3) Kinders se geboorte-sertifikaart.

4) Bewys van inkomste, drie maande bankstaat (indien ’n kliënt nie ‘n bankrekening het nie verklaring by polisiestasie dat kliënt nie ’n bankrekening besit nie).

5) Payslip.

6) Kragnommer (meter nr).

• Indien die aansoek gedoen is en goedgekeur is voor 30 Junie per jaar word die gratis eenhede vanaf 1 Julie gegee.

• Indien die aansoeke gedoen soos bv. gedurende Julie gaan die persoon eers 1 Augustus gratis eenhede ontvang.
