CALL FOR NOMINATIONS TO SERVE ON THE CAPE AGULHAS LOCAL DRUG ACTION COMMITTEE (CAM LDAC)

2022-2026

The office of the Executive Mayor is pleased to be calling for nominations from organisations, institutions and state departments that qualify to serve on the CAM LDAC for new term.

Section 60 of Chapter 10 of the Prevention of and Treatment for Substance Abuse Act 70 of 2008, requires the Mayor to establish a Local Drug Action Committee that consists of interested persons and stakeholders who are involved in organisations dealing with the combating of substance abuse in the municipality.

We kindly request nominations of representatives from the following sectors in the municipal area to work alongside Cape Agulhas Municipality and other private sector and government sector stakeholders to combat drug abuse.

• Educational institutions within the municipality.
• Prevention, treatment and aftercare services within the municipality.
• Local health authority of the local municipality.
• Local business sector within the municipality.

State Departments that are required to serve on LDAC will be communicated with individually to nominate representatives.   

Your organisation / institution / department is a significant participant in the overall effort to combat drug abuse at all levels and we cannot develop and implement our action plan without your advice, guidance and insight. We would appreciate it if you would respond to this call for nominations by providing the following information:  

The closing date for nominations is 16:30 on 23 June 2022. Nominations can be delivered to the Municipal Offices or sent to Mr Sikhulule Ngxowa at SikhululeN@capeagulhas.gov.za

The election of office bearers for the new LDAC term of office will take place on 30 June 2022 at 10h00 at the Glaskasteel, Sport Complex, Recreation Street, Bredasdorp.
